Meet Jeff Ehrhart

CSB Board Member

Jeff Ehrhart is a farmer deeply rooted in the agricultural heritage of his family. Born into the second generation of Ehrhart Farms Inc., Jeff's agricultural lineage traces back through his grandparents who were also farmers. Raised on the farm by his parents, Ken and Darlene Ehrhart, Jeff's childhood was immersed in the rhythms of farm life.

In 1996, the Ehrhart family established Ehrhart Farms Inc. Today, Jeff, alongside his wife Kathy, proudly oversees the operations of Ehrhart Farms, with the hope that their sons, Justin and Kevin, will carry on the legacy for generations to come.

Their farming activities span across Racine, Kenosha, and Walworth counties, where they primarily engage in grain farming while also offering custom spraying and combining services. For Jeff, agriculture is not just a livelihood but a source of immense satisfaction.

"Agriculture has presented us with many opportunities. We enjoy working with our family and friends," said Ehrhart. "Planting a crop and watching it grow through harvest is very fulfilling and living in an agricultural community is second to none."

Jeff recognizes the dynamic nature of agriculture and embraces the challenges and opportunities it presents. Ehrhart explained, "The future of agriculture will be exciting to say the least. As with all industry, the technology coming at us is somewhat overwhelming. The developments in seed genetics, chemicals, conservation practices and machinery keep us all wondering what’s next."

Beyond farming, Jeff is honored to serve as a Board Member at Community State Bank. Since joining the board in 2016, Jeff has come to believe more strongly than ever in the vital role of community banking for the ag community.

Meet Dave Moyer

CSB SVP | Market President & Ag Manager

Introducing Dave Moyer, Owner of Moyer Family Farm, where three generations have tilled the land since Dave's dad bought the farm back in the '50s.

With 450 acres of grain fields to tend to, Dave finds joy in the simple things – "What I enjoy the most about farming is the satisfaction of a hard days work and a successful harvest," said Moyer.

When he's not in the fields, you'll find Dave at Community State Bank, where he's been a Commercial and Ag Lender for nearly two decades. He's all about helping folks out and giving back to the community that's always had his back.

Looking forward, Dave's heart is warmed by the next generation's enthusiasm for farming. "There are so many young kids who are passionate about the Ag Industry," said Moyer. "They're interested in not just production agriculture, but the thousands of other occupations that revolve around agriculture. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Ag Educators and FFA Advisors who are teaching the youth of our communities about ag."

Dave Moyer is also very connected to the community. In addition to Dave being a farmer and community banker he also donates several of his hours volunteering at the county fairs as an announcer. You'll also find Dave bright and early at the fairgrounds greeting exhibitors and delivering donuts and milk.

Meet Brian Lois

CSB Ag Relationship Coordinator

Meet Brian Lois, a proud member of the fifth generation farming legacy at LFG Farms LLC. Working alongside his grandparents, parents, and two brothers, Brian cherishes the opportunity to continue his family's agricultural heritage.

At LFG Farms LLC, Brian and his family primarily cultivate corn and soybeans, with a side of beef cattle and a small feedlot operation. For Brian, the greatest joy of farming lies in those he works closely with, family.

"I think the most enjoyable thing to me as a farmer is being able to work alongside my family while continuing the family legacy," said Lois.  "Being the 5th generation to operate the farm is super special to me. I also enjoy being able to be a part of providing the food, fuel, and fiber that is used throughout the world."

Beyond the fields, Brian serves as an Agricultural and Commercial Lender at Community State Bank, where he also plays a role in organizing livestock auctions at three county fairs (Racine, Kenosha, Walworth). Since joining CSB in May 2021, Brian has been dedicated to serving the needs of his clients and contributing to the community. He also serves as a Board Member of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency County Committee.

Looking ahead, Brian sees endless opportunities for young farmers. "I think that there are a lot of opportunities for younger people to be a part of Ag. Whether it's owning a farm, working for an ag retailer or equipment manufacturer, or even being an Ag Lender," said Lois. "The opportunities are forever growing and it is neat to see so many people be passionate about the agricultural industry."

Brian, a young farmer himself, is also excited to see how farming will change with the advances in technology. "I am super excited about the ways that ag could change over the next 10 to 20 years." he explained. "As the average age of the American farmer sits at 57.5 years old, it's clear that change is coming. From updated technology and stronger equipment to exploring new crops and more efficient farming methods, the future is bright for farming. It's exciting to be a part of it."
