Community State Bank was recently awarded the 2013 Chamber Choice award by the Greater Union Grove Area Chamber of Commerce (UGACC). The honor was presented at the Chamber’s annual Chamber Choice Awards Banquet at Michael’s on the Lake in Kansasville, WI, on February 22nd, 2014.
The Chamber Choice award is presented each year to an area member business that demonstrates leadership, is dedicated to their employees and customer service, and exemplifies community commitment.
“Chamber Choice award winners lead by example,” said Greater Union Grove Area Chamber of Commerce Director Jennifer Ditscheit. “Community State Bank has a proven track record as a dedicated business leader for many years in Union Grove. They dedicate their time, effort, knowledge and financial resources to help the entire community.”
Award winners are selected by a ballot initiative by chamber members at the end of each year. Current chamber members nominate eligible area businesses, and those nominations are then voted upon by all of the Greater UGACC members.
“We’re very honored to win this award,” said Community State Bank President Scott Huedepohl. “The Chamber’s goals and ours are in some ways very similar. We’re both passionate and dedicated to engaging with and building the communities we serve.”
The Bank was also awarded a citation on behalf of the Wisconsin State Legislature recognizing their community efforts. State Representative Robin Vos presented the award to Huedepohl who accepted on behalf of all of the employees at Community State Bank.
The citation read as follows: “With over 110 years of doing business in the area, Community State Bank’s approach to our community’s financial well-being is what makes it one of the premiere banking institutions in Racine and Kenosha counties."
As a relationship-driven organization, they exemplify “community” through their continued financial contributions, educational programs and volunteer support of local area events and activities. Some of those include their involvement in Super Saturday – including the Superhero 5K Family Fun Run/Walk, their award-winning financial literacy program called “My LIFE”, and their support of higher level education through their scholarship and other programs.”
